OK guruís get your thinking caps on once more; the blue screen has visited me once more!

Story goes as follows:

Machine working OK, plug in USB stick, BLUE SCREEN, computer will not restart on in safe mode (I am in it now) tried a number of things, nothing worked so re-installed XP, all working well after re-installation until next morning come down turn on machine, boots past the RAID check and POST starts to load Win XP up until the XP logo comes on, then a quick flash of blue screen (not able to read the code error) and it goes into re-boot once more. I have unplugged everything in the case that is not required (in case of hardware error) the only things still connected are the MB, RAM, 2 x SATA (in RAID), a key board, a mouse and the video card. Again it will now only start in safe mode again. Anybody have any ideas, Don I know you have the solution!

Start in Safe Mode.

Right click My Computer and then click Advanced then Settings next to Startup and Recovery.
Untick the box called Automatically restart. Apply and exit.

Right click My Computer and choose Manage.
Look through the Application and System Event Logs to see if anything is obvious as to why Windows won't start.

Restart the PC and try to enter normal Windows. Any blue screen should now stay on screen so you can read the message and maybe post the error message and code.

Thanks Don,

On the event viewer the following is listed:

Application:

Error - Eveny System
Warning - LoadPref
Warning - WinMgmt
Warning - Userenv
Warning - MsiInstaller
Error - MsiInstaller
All repeated a few times

System:

Error - System Control Manager
Error - DCOM
Error - atapi
Error - PlugPlayManager
Again all repeated a few times

Then on the blue screen (which I can now see, thanks) it says:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Then all the normal stuff for a hardware error, restart, safemode etc etc

bottom code reads:

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xE726CA09, 0x00000000, 0xA8D6D02E, 0x00000002)

You could be looking a a piece of hardware that is faulty, a corrupt driver or a fault on the hard drive(s).

To start, run a full hard drive check.

Start in safe mode. Open My Computer and right click the C drive.
Choose properties then Tools. Click Check Now and then tick both boxes.
Apply and exit. After a restart the system will run a check on the hard drive. See if that clears it up.

Also repeat for any other hard drives you may have in the system.
