Having now got over my overspill with the water-cooling system I am currently running on my spare MB which is slowly giving up the ghost (chip fan is whining more than the wife) so here is the question:
I need a new MB and happy to get a new chip (currently AMD 4200 64 X2 Dual) with the new MB but cannot get new RAM and Graphics card as well, what board can I get that will run with my current ram ( Corsair Twin X2048- 3500LL Pro) and my 2 graphics cards (BFG 7800 GT). Once itís done Iíll be looking to do the RAM and new graphics cards later.

Cheers

Well you should really go for a change to Intel as they are currently the dogs dangglies.

But as you have other considerations then go for the fastest AMD AM2 CPU and motherboard. This is a problem though as you have DDr ram and almost every new motherboard now uses DDR2 ram and the two aren't interchangable. That said, you have more money than sense so could easily stretch ( like your belly) to some new DDR2 ram as it's pretty cheap now.

Currently the highest spec AMD chip is the 6400+ @ £164.

Overclockers have a bundle based around the slightly slower AMD AM2 6000+ CPU at £257

A cheaper fix though, would be to replace the chipset fan with a new one from ASUS. Ask Flucke, he did the same.
