My PC restarted last night and again just now - seems to be getting more regular again.
In the event log there is nothing listed as to why it shuts itself down - this is the first log at the time.

Quote:
Event Type: Information
Event Source: EventLog
Event Category: None
Event ID: 6009
Date: 01/09/2007
Time: 13:44:50
User: N/A
Computer: GERALDENE
Description:
Microsoft (R) Windows (R) 5.01. 2600 Service Pack 2 Multiprocessor Free.

Next one says :-

Quote:
Event Type: Information
Event Source: EventLog
Event Category: None
Event ID: 6005
Date: 01/09/2007
Time: 13:44:50
User: N/A
Computer: GERALDENE
Description:
The Event log service was started.

So thats no help.

Last night only UTorrent was running - today there were more progs going including Utorrent but I was not sat at the PC using it either time.
It was not my screensaver trying to kick in either time cos its not running.

Any ideas - or is it still cos PC's just sometimes shut down ?

Turn off the Windows auto restart on failure feature. Just like I told you to do the other day.

Right click MY Computer and choose Properties.
Then Advanced and Settings next to Startup and Recovery.
Remove the tick from the Automatically restart box.

Next time it happens, see if it stops with a blue screen and an error code.

Sounds as if it's not Windows at fault then.
Could be that crappy power supply of yours starting to fail maybe.

I'm not saying that the PSU is faulty, I'm mearly suggesting it as a possible cause.

I'm no expert but I think it may have something to do with the fact that your computer is called "GERALDENE!"
