Ok, yes i have gone a brought Windows 7 64bit, Pro version.

Have installed BF2 and BF2142 and both have similiar graphical problems.

In 2142 i can see the background and certain lighting effects such as the Titans engines, hovertanks blue lights, and chopper engines. But i dont have any foreground detail like buildings, other soldiers etc, except my gun, arm and when i find a tank or chopper the corresponding consoles etc, but still no buildings or trees and the like.

In BF2 its not as bad and i do have buildings and plants etc but the ground is not right and similiar to the bf2142 lookk.

My drivers are all uptodate, i.e graphics card drivers are version 190.07

Any help would be greatly recieved, i wanna play these games in windows 7.

Try updating to the latest Directx9.

Latest Nvidia drivers are 191.07 not 190.07.

Out of interest, how much is Windows 7 Pro this time?

Go back to an earlier driver. Say 17x.xx and try again. Update slowly until you find a version that works.

Or buy a proper video card.

I cant afford that Vince lmao, i just brought Windows 7 lol.

Anyway was looking at maybe getting one of the lower end 5800 Radeons when they come out, at least then they will be DirectX 11 compatible.

Or the XFX GTX275 XXX, for around 160 quid.

There should be no reason why a 320GTS isn't fully compatible with Windows 7 and BF2.

Well thats what i thought, a new card is only a last resort. Gonna test my dads 9800gtx+ in it later, see if the problem persists or dissapears.

Ok, some updates, my dads 9800gtx+ was the same. poopoo

Anyway have been doing the driver thing. So have tried the following drivers (these are the only ones i could get off Nvidia.

181.71 <<Beta
185.85 <<WHQL
186.18 <<WHQL
190.38 <<WHQL
190.62 <<WHQL
191.03 <<Beta
191.07 <<current driver.

Anyways the only driver i had some success with was 190.38 which ran BF2142 fine but still same issues in BF2. OR so i thought. Once i rebooted we were back to square one, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Its got to be a driver problem!! Would motherboard chipset drivers have anything to do with things as there is no windows 7 64 bit chipset driver from gigabyte. So i am just using the one that was installed with Windows 7???

If it is the same with another video card then I'd say a corrupt Windows install at best or a faulty component at worst. PSU maybe.

Install a clean copy of Windows 7. Install the latest Nvidia drivers. Install the latest Directx9. Install nothing else. Install BF2 from the DVD. Do not update it. Run the game and make sure the resolution is set to 800x600.

Ok then got some updates. It would seem all my problems are todo with Anti Alaising settings.

In BF2 i have to run it with Anti Alaising off completely, if i put it on i completely lose all my floor detail etc. When i turn it off i get my detail back woop woop.

In BF2142 i can have it set to 2x, any higher (i normally have it at 4x) i lose my detail.

So, lets hoping Invidia sort this out with a new driver soon.
